The Role – Payroll Administrator and BookkeeperAs a Payroll Administrator and Bookkeeper, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that client payrolls and bookkeeping tasks are completed accurately and on time. You’ll work with a variety of payroll and bookkeeping software, support clients with payroll compliance, and ensure VAT and tax deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of payroll processing for a variety of clients using Sage and other software.
- Ensure compliance with Auto Enrolment and pay-rolling benefits in kind.
- Maintain controls for monthly, quarterly, and annual payrolls, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Provide bookkeeping services, using QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Sage.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns while keeping up to date with relevant VAT and tax legislation.
- Use automation software such as AutoEntry and Dext to improve efficiency.
- Liaise with clients confidently, ensuring excellent customer service and clear communication.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.
What We’re Looking For in a Payroll Administrator and Bookkeeper:
- At least two years of experience in a payroll or bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping processes.
- Proficiency in Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Excel.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A positive and proactive approach, with excellent communication skills.
- A desire to continue learning and developing within a professional environment.
