An established accountancy practice in Darlington is looking to welcome a Personal Tax Senior or Semi-Senior to its growing tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years’ experience in personal tax who is looking to develop their technical knowledge and progress their career within a supportive practice environment.
The firm works closely with a varied client base, providing tailored accountancy and tax services while building long-term client relationships.
Your new role
Joining the personal tax team, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of personal tax compliance work, ensuring clients receive an accurate, efficient and professional service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and managing Self Assessment tax returns for a varied client portfolio.
- Supporting clients with personal tax queries and HMRC correspondence.
- Ensuring tax returns are completed accurately and within statutory deadlines.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Assisting with personal tax planning and advisory work where appropriate.
- Working closely with colleagues and senior team members to deliver a high-quality service.
What you'll need to succeed
- A few years’ experience in a personal tax role within an accountancy practice.
- Good knowledge of UK personal tax compliance and Self Assessment.
- The ability to manage deadlines and organise your workload effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- A client-focused approach and willingness to develop your technical expertise.
- ATT qualified, studying towards a qualification, or qualified by experience would be advantageous.
