Private Client Solicitor / Director - 5 - 8 PQE
Location: East Sussex (Newhaven or other local offices)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (DOE)
Working Pattern: Full-time or part-time, with hybrid flexibility
The Opportunity
A respected regional firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Director (5–8 PQE) to join their established and growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to take a leading role within a forward-thinking practice, managing a varied caseload while helping shape the continued success of the department.
The position can be based at the firm’s Newhaven office or another local office, with hybrid working available for the right candidate.
The Role
You will manage a broad and rewarding range of private client matters, delivering high-quality legal advice and exceptional client service. Depending on your experience, the caseload may include:
- Probate and estate administration (including taxable estates)
- Intestacies and will drafting
- Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Court of Protection work
- Trusts and management of client affairs
You will also play an active role in business development, supporting departmental growth, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to the firm’s strategic direction.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 5–8 years’ PQE in Private Client law
- Capable of managing a varied and busy caseload independently
- Excellent client care, communication, and mentoring skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive, professional approach
- Confident in networking and business development
- STEP qualification desirable but not essential
This position would suit either:
- An experienced Private Client Solicitor or Practitioner looking to progress into a Director-level role, or
- A current Director seeking a new challenge within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
