Puro Associates are currently working with a well-established law firm that is looking to appoint a Private Family Law Solicitor to join its growing Family Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload and enjoys providing high-quality advice to privately funded clients.

The Role
- You will manage a varied caseload of private family matters from instruction through to conclusion, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice while maintaining excellent standards of client care. Your responsibilities include:
- Managing your own caseload with minimal supervision
- Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients
- Conducting negotiations and corresponding with solicitors, counsel and other professionals
- Preparing court documentation, statements, applications, consent orders and other legal documents
- Instructing counsel and experts where appropriate
- Preparing matters for hearings and representing clients where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate and compliant case records
- Progressing matters efficiently and managing deadlines
- Recording time and working towards agreed financial targets
- Developing strong and lasting client relationships
- Supporting networking and business development activity
- Keeping up to date with developments in family law and legal practice
- Advise on all aspects of family law, including: divorce, private law children matters, cohabitation and separation disputes, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and domestic abuse matters
About You
- Qualified solicitor experienced in Private Family Law
- Confident managing an independent caseload
- Technically strong across a broad range of family matters
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Commercially aware and focused on delivering an excellent client experience
- Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a wider team
Advocacy experience would be advantageous, as would experience of business development, networking or supervising more junior members of a team. Membership of Resolution or a willingness to join would also be beneficial.
