About the Role
Our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Cork, is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accountant who enjoys working with a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients and taking responsibility for accounts from start to finish.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation of client accounts and the delivery of high-quality accounting and compliance services.
Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of year-end accounts for a portfolio of clients
• Managing client files from records stage through to final accounts
• Preparation of management accounts and financial statements
• VAT return preparation and review
• Liaising directly with clients and acting as a key point of contact
• Identifying and resolving accounting issues
• Supporting and mentoring junior staff where required
• Ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential
• Strong background in accounts preparation for SME clients
• Part-qualified or qualified (ACA / ACCA or equivalent), or qualified by experience
• Comfortable managing multiple client files
• Practical, solutions-focused approach
• Strong communication and organisational skills
