Semi-Senior Accountant
Location: Bristol (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £35,000 (depending on experience)
We are a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Bristol, with a large and diverse client base that provides an interesting and varied portfolio of work.
With a close-knit team of 18 staff, we offer excellent exposure across all areas of practice (excluding audit), giving you the opportunity to develop a broad and well-rounded skillset. Our collaborative environment ensures you will gain hands-on experience and direct client interaction from an early stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Assisting with management accounts preparation
  • Preparing VAT returns and handling bookkeeping where required
  • Supporting the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
  • Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide day-to-day support
  • Using cloud-based software including Xero and QuickBooks
  • Assisting senior staff with ad hoc projects and client work

About You

  • AAT qualified or ACA / ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice is essential
  • Proven experience within a general practice environment
  • Good working knowledge of accounts preparation and VAT
  • Experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a practice environment
