About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team in Huddersfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with strong practice experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within a friendly, professional and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
  • Prepare Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment Tax returns accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Produce management reports and financial information for clients.
  • Support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and the transition to digital accounting processes.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients.
  • Provide clients with appropriate accounting and tax advice and respond confidently to queries.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent client experience.
  • Manage your workload effectively, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with firm and regulatory standards.
  • Keep up to date with relevant accounting, tax and regulatory developments.

About You
We are looking for someone who is technically capable, organised and confident working directly with clients.
You will ideally have:

  • AAT qualification or be studying towards ACA or ACCA or QBE.
  • Previous experience preparing accounts and tax returns within an accountancy practice.
  • Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage and Dext.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • The confidence to manage a varied workload and work to deadlines.
