We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Practice Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our practice. This is a key leadership position where you’ll oversee client delivery, team performance, operational efficiency, and compliance standards while helping drive the continued growth of the business.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you’ll play a hands-on role in leading and developing the team, building strong client relationships, and ensuring the practice consistently delivers a high-quality, client-focused service. We’re looking for someone who leads from the front, brings positive energy to the team, and can confidently balance people management with operational oversight.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the overall performance and daily operations of the practice
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing team members to create a high-performing environment
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with compliance requirements
  • Supporting operational improvements and driving best practice across the business
  • Managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, explaining financial matters in a clear and approachable way

What we’re looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong leadership experience, including coaching, team development, and performance management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP, Companies Act requirements, and HMRC compliance
  • Confident using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, discreet, and confident handling sensitive information
  • A proactive and forward-thinking approach with the ability to lead strategically, not just operationally
  • Experience working with farming or agricultural clients would be an advantage (desirable but not essential).

If this sounds like the next step in your career and is something you’d be interested in. Please feel free to give me a call on 01904 571 760 or email me over a copy of your CV on o.bell@puroassociates.com.
