Puro Associates are currently recruiting for an experienced Tax Manager to join a leading firm of accountants and business advisory services-based Northeast of Birmingham City Centre. You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, overseeing tax compliance processes, and delivering expert advisory services across a wide range of sectors.

The Role:

• Take ownership of the tax compliance process for a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely submission of tax returns and advising clients on tax payment deadlines.
• Manage and mentor the tax team, delegating tasks effectively while supporting trainees in their development.
• Lead more complex tax computations and prepare detailed tax returns, including corporation tax computations for large group companies and standalone clients.
• Advise on a wide range of tax advisory projects, including Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning, share incentive schemes, and business acquisitions or sales.
• Handle tax queries and conduct in-depth technical research to support client needs.
• Review personal and trust tax returns, as well as capital gains tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Provide input into refining and developing corporation tax processes and procedures for the department.
• Oversee the commercial delivery of tax work, including setting fee quotes and monitoring recovery rates.

Skills and experience:

• A minimum of 3 years in a senior tax position, with experience in both compliance and technical tax processes
• Strong ability to interpret and apply current tax legislation
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients, particularly within SME/OMB businesses in public practice
• Solid background in handling tax matters across a variety of clients
• CTA, ACA, ACCA, or ATT qualification is preferred
