Payroll Manager – Abingdon Area
We are currently seeking a skilled Payroll Manager to join a well-established accountancy firm in the Abingdon area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the payroll department and manage a large portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the payroll department to ensure efficient processing of monthly payrolls.
- Act as the first point of contact for clients with payroll-related queries, providing excellent client service and support.
- Handle communications with clients via phone and email, ensuring their payroll needs are met promptly.
- Assist with filings to Companies House, including company secretarial services.
- Provide support with client registrations and HMRC matters.
- Contribute to credit control efforts as needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy firm.
- Full UK driving license is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Xero accounting software is advantageous but not essential.
- Proactive attitude, capable of working independently in a small team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
