Job Title: Semi Senior Accountant
Location: Loughborough (with 1 day per week working from home)
Salary: Up to £28,000 (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Company:
Our client is a well-established and friendly accountancy practice based in Loughborough. With a small but dedicated team, they pride themselves on delivering a personal and high-quality service to a broad portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies across a range of sectors.
As the practice continues to grow, they are now looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a supportive and flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
- VAT returns and bookkeeping
- Supporting with client queries and providing excellent service
- Assisting in the training and support of junior team members (where applicable)
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
- Liaising with HMRC and other third parties as required
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a UK accountancy practice
- AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/ACA (study support may be considered)
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client service
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
