What You’ll Be Doing as a Qualified Practice Accountant:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, from small business owners to medium-sized companies.
- Preparing and reviewing management and year-end accounts for companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
- Handling business and personal tax duties, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns across different schemes (flat rate, cash, accrual).
- Using a range of accounting software to support clients with their financial needs.
- Providing expert guidance to clients on anti-money laundering compliance and financial best practices.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members within the practice.
- Meeting with clients in person and remotely to discuss accounts, financial strategy, and business growth.
What We’re Looking for in a Qualified Practice Accountant:
- AAT qualified (or equivalent).
- Previous accountancy practice experience is essential.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK financial reporting, corporation tax, and income tax.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- A detail-oriented and methodical approach, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build great client relationships.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude, ready to take ownership of client accounts.
- A full driving license and access to your own vehicle (as the office is not easily accessible by public transport).
